There are many uses of Google services now days. Whether you like Google or not we are living in Google era, way back sometime what used to be Yahoo! era. But I never thought Google will be used for critical decision making like “US Government to select targets for international sanctions.”  US State department recently assigned a junior Foreign Service officer to find the names another way — by using Google. Those with the most hits under search terms such as “Iran and nuclear”, when their request to CIA for names of Iranians who could be sanctioned for their involvement in a clandestine nuclear weapons program was declined by the agency.

So now not only mainstream seeking information over the net, Govt. Intelligence agencies are now relying on Google search for their target. My oh my than why the hell keep those agency, just make a deal with Google, Yahoo and MSN to provide intel. That will save a lot of money. No wonder their intel is so far from reality (As we saw the CIA’s intel on Saddam’s WMD)as all those come from crowdsourcing/public not from real investigation. Well at least good for Google, now they are not only leader of search engine, but also leading provider of US intel.
