I ended up purchasing a domain and forwarding that to a blog I started with Blogger. If it somehow outgrows my needs, maybe I'll export that to WordPress and host it myself. Thank you for your input.

My recomendation would be still wordpress.com, if you are looking for hosted solution for free and in future want to transfer that to any other platform/domain.

I plan on starting a blog. Without purchasing my own domain space, which is the best blog hosting service? So far my main candidates are Blogger, WordPress.com, and Terapad.

I am not very experienced so the easiest to set up is very important, however, I do pick up on things quickly so advanced features will be useful.

ALSO:
Do you still recommend WordPress.org for the software to run the blog on?
