Microsoft has announced the availability of Windows Media Player 11 for Windows XP (64-bit edition). The download size is little bulkier than I expected, around 26.6 MB. Those who are still using dial-up will take more than an hour to download that. Initially this will be only available for English language users. Oh! Forgot to mention this download is available to customers running genuine Microsoft Windows, typical Microsoft: so predictable.
If your computer is running the Windows XP operating system with Windows Media Player 11 for Windows XP installed and when you upgrade to the Windows Vista operating system, …
Recent information development and Windows Vista issue might cause users to shift to Mac OS X. It’s not just a guess, Microsoft’s Vista pose obstacles to user friendliness and not to mention economical aspects ties with this upgrade. Microsoft’s Vista indeed have the quality to be the next generation OS, but from the consumer’s perspective it will be nothing but a big expansive commodities. Remember consumer means I am referring to general user’s not business or enterprise users.
You will get the picture if I explain it step by step. Microsoft is bringing out Vista …
System requirements:
1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor.
So that means if you are using anything older than Pentium 4 or similar class you have to change processor & obviously the mother board, to run Vista.
1 GB of system memory.
But as I saw in RC1 & RC2 better if it’s above 1.5 GB
Support for DirectX 9 graphics with a WDDM driver, 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum), Pixel Shader 2.0 and 32 bits …
Symantec Corp. on Monday announced the availability of Norton Confidential, the world's first all-inclusive online transaction security solution. Norton Confidential provides consumers with an unprecedented, dual level of protection against the most dangerous tools in an attacker's toolkit: fraudulent phishing Web sites & eavesdropping malware. I wish I never had to write this, but alas Microsoft is breaking my heart. After five years of research seems to me they just wasted millions of dollars. Some improvement definitely adds on, specially some bugs that were existed in XP SP2 and in RC1 have been resolved. But some new one pops out, and some were just left alone, maybe for the next version, so that people need to spend some more cash. Total disappointment for people like me who were expecting even …
Last week Microsoft named Cyril Paciullo, the creator of Messenger Plus and Messenger Plus Live, to its list of MVPs. The award recognizes people with expertise in Microsoft products who make significant contributions to other users, often in the form of technical advice. Messenger Plus is a free program that adds some useful functions to Microsoft's instant messaging software, like the ability to stack several chat windows together and access them via tabs. One week after it named the creator of a Windows Messenger add-on to its list of Most Valued Professionals (MVPs), Microsoft …
The most awaited, controversial and believed to be the revolution of operating System Microsoft’s Windows Vista will going to roll in the market in less than 120 days (Late January,2007). But are you ready yet? Doesn’t matter you like Microsoft or not, you run Mac or IBM, if you will get to know vista’s awesome side’s you will have pretty idea what kind of OS (operating System) will dominate this coming 2007 or maybe beyond. I myself use Firefox as my browser …
Long awaited Microsoft’s windows Vista’s price released in Amazon few hours ago. But big blue’s Vista won’t be available for shipping up until January, 2007. According to dealer Microsoft Windows Vista can be only preorder online, at this moment; shipping will have to wait until beginning of 2007. On Monday, Microsoft accidentally posted Canadian pricing for Vista on its Canadian Web site and then pulled the price list from the site, within few hours when the information was out in the ZDnet site. Converted to U.S. dollars, the prices for Vista in Canada were higher than the U.S. prices listed on Amazon.com’s Web site. But actual price list was posted in both ZDnet and Cnet first. So most probably Amamzon.com uses that accidental lick out pricelist as the basis of their price for Vista.
Well I read that news on Zdnet that Sam Ramjii, Director of Microsoft’s Open Source Software Lab, has extended an invitation to the Firefox and Thunderbird developers asking them if they’d like to visit the company’s open source research center. Microsoft’s hopes are that, in a four-day span, the company can provide the open source developers with enough information to get the popular web browser running smoothly on Windows Vista.  Its sounds snafu, and smell rotten already: P
Microsoft after something, or big blue coming to realize it’s time to go open source, …
