“Law is Above all else” or “No one is above Laws” was still taught by our teachers and elders. But alas the reality is something different. My discussion will be focused on “International war crime laws“. Targeted audience: “General concerned people”.

Who makes The International Law: An UN commission “International Law Commission” or ILC.

Geneva Conventions: The Geneva Conventions consist of four treaties formulated in Geneva, Switzerland, that set the standards for international law for humanitarian concerns. The conventions were the results of efforts by Henri Dunant, who was motivated by the horrors of war he witnessed at the Battle of Solferino in 1859. In 1977 and 2005 three separate amendments, called protocols, were made part on the Geneva Conventions.

So as you can see the international war laws was widely accepted by most of the countries. And it was long before Fist world war. That’s the reason Hitler and his associates were charged with war crime. According to my research Hitler’s Army directly killed 51 million people (Both military and civilian). But in August 6, 1945 when USA atomic bombed Hiroshima & Nagasaki in Japan and killed 214,000 people, 95% of them were civilians, No criminal charges were taken.

In Vietnam War Approximately 2 million civilians were killed by Americans, on the other hand 58,226 US soldiers killed or missing. No international tribunal had been created for either US or Vietnam War criminals.

Most recent Iraq War or the American call it “Operation Iraqi Freedom” more then 350,000 Civilians has been reported killed. And Saddam the former Iraqi president is on war crime trial for killing 300 civilians during Iraq-Iran war.

But those who killed 350,000 civilians are not charged with war crime.

Even some US, Allied activity were reported as war crime, No trial or Conviction hasn’t been done.

So tell me what is the use of those war crime laws? Nothing… since The Big countries will control it anyway they like in their own favor. This just a propaganda to show common peoples that yes we have laws.
